Hi! Welcome to my blog. My name is Suzanne, but most people call me ‘Suus’, which is why I named my blog ‘Just plain Suus’.

I like to live with my head in a book, which is why I started this blog in 2015 to share my love of reading with the world. Even though I’m from the Netherlands (and therefor speak Dutch), I have been reading in English since I was about twelve years old and haven’t stopped since. Although you will find the occasional Dutch book on this blog, most of my reading is in English which is why I decided to write this blog in English too.

Besides writing about books on my blog, you can find me on Instagram @suusreadsbooks where I share pictures of book hauls, reading updates and short reviews.

In 2016 two friends and I started our own book club in Delft, called ‘Undercover Book Club’. If you live in the area, or are just feeling curious check out our Facebook page and send us a message!

Since 2017 I have started to write my own stories (in Dutch) with the help of ‘The Writer’s Guide’. Read my first published short story ‘De Slag om Amsterdam’ on Vers Beton and my short story ‘Jette’ on stichtingbeterschrijven.nl where it was longlisted for the debutant writing competition.
