The January ’17 Overview

The January ’17 Overview

After last months super successful reading sprint, January was a bit of a setback. As I was graduating I had very little time left for reading. So here is my very short list for January and a very long list for February.

January

Here is the list of books (ie one book) I read in January with the rating I gave it on Goodreads (X out of 5) and what I thought in a quick 1 or 2-sentence review.

This month I just read ‘The Book of Night Women’ by Marlon James and I gave it 4 stars. It was the book club pick of the month, which is why I forced myself to take the time to read it. Enjoy is the wrong word for the horrors described in this book, but it was good and I think it will stick with me for a while.

February

Since I was graduating in January I had little time to read. However, February is a whole different story now there is no more studying (hoozah). So perhaps a bit of a long list, but I hope to accomplish it. A friend of mine is also starting a literary course and I have decided to join her in reading her list too. I felt it would be a great way to get introduced to some new and different types of books I would not necessarily pick myself.
